Snow Bird Season is Second Home Season

The real snow birds have made their arrival in sunny South Florida again this year: dependable as ever. Yes, it has been a long journey, and we all hope second homes will be on the national agenda for some buyers in 2009 despite a fowl economy. Bird watchers and outdoor enthusiasts alike are directing their eyes toward the sky to view the majesty of nature. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service there are approximately 51.3 million “birders” in America and that number continues to grow. Jupiter, Florida residents at Mallory Creek, a private community at Abacoa, will enjoy the unmistakably pink plumage of the roseate spoonbill. These birds wade in the tidal estuaries and in the beautiful Intercoastal Waterway minutes away.

Often mistaken for the Flamingo, Roseate Spoonbills are members of the Ibis family and are favorites of many tourists and seasonal Florida residents.
